What is Baie des Cochons?
“Baie des Cochons” is a popular nickname for part of the naturist beach in Cap d’Agde. It is not a separate municipality or an officially designated beach.
It is now one of the best-known spots in the Village Naturiste: people come for the beach and the Mediterranean, but also for the atmosphere that builds through the day.

Where exactly is Baie des Cochons?
Baie des Cochons is at the eastern end of the Cap d’Agde naturist beach, beyond the Village Naturiste. It has no postal address: you reach it on foot along the beach, from the Village Naturiste or from Marseillan-Plage. It is an area of the beach rather than a separate official beach: you will not find it under that name on an official map.

How the atmosphere changes through the day
In the morning and early in the day it is usually quiet: people come mainly for the sun and the Mediterranean.
Through the afternoon it gets livelier. Music and the crowd gradually give the place its festive character, and Baie des Cochons becomes one of the meeting points on the Village Naturiste beach.
That mix of beach, downtime and party atmosphere explains its reputation, among French holidaymakers and the many international visitors alike.
When to go
July and August are the busiest months and it can get very crowded. For the festive atmosphere, come in the afternoon in peak season. For something quieter, choose the morning, spring or September.
